To apply for the student loan approved by President Bola Tinubu, follow these steps:
1. Visit the Portal: Go to https://portal.nelf.gov.ng and click on “Apply Now”.
2. Get Started: Click on “Get Started” and answer the questions to confirm you are a Nigerian.
3. Verify Educational Information: Select your school from the dropdown menu and provide your matriculation number to check if your school has uploaded your details.
4. Verify with JAMB: Enter your JAMB details. If your NIN is not registered with JAMB, you can enter it for validation.
5. Create an Account: Enter your email address and password, then confirm the password and click “Create Account”. Verify your email by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
6. Complete Your Profile:
– Contact Details: Update your phone number, address, state, and local government area.
– Educational Details: Select your higher institution and input your matriculation number.
– Account Details: Enter your BVN, select your bank name, and input your account number.
7. Loan Application
– Click on the “Request for student loan” button.
– Choose the type of loan (upkeep or institutional charge).
– Upload supporting documents (admission letter is compulsory, student ID and institution invoice are optional).
– Read and agree to the terms and conditions, then submit your application.
You can monitor the status of your application by logging into the portal.
