The Esan Central Local Government chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is gearing up for a significant pre-victory march and rally scheduled for Monday, July 22, 2024. The event aims to galvanize support for the party’s candidates, Barr. Asue Ighodalo and Barr. Ogie, in the upcoming elections.

The day’s activities will commence with a road show starting at 11 AM, which will be followed by a formal reception for High Chief Francis Inegbeniki, along with his supporters and other defectors from the Labour Party (LP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). This significant event is set to take place at the Okaijesan Town Hall in Irrua at 2 PM.

A statement signed by Esan Central PDP Chairman Apostle Mathew Ebhotiemen and MSE Adekunle Oboh, Director General of the Esan Central Campaign Council, on behalf of party leader Senator Clifford Ordia, called on all PDP members to participate in the rally. The statement highlights the importance of demonstrating solidarity with the party’s candidates during this critical period.

To facilitate the event, the local government area will be effectively shut down from 10 AM to 5 PM, and commuters are advised to avoid the area during this timeframe to avoid any disruptions.

Amb. Tony Okonigene, Director of Operations for the Esan Central PDP Campaign Council, emphasized the significance of the rally in a release on July 21, 2024, and urged all party faithful to turn out in large numbers to support the PDP’s campaign.

This massive mobilization effort is expected to reinforce the party’s strength in the region as they prepare for the upcoming elections.
