The popular gongs man and towncrier of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Emmanuel also known as Egogo, has dumped the APC over what he described as a loss of its core values and principles and embezzlement of funds.
In a letter submitted to journalists Monday morning, Egogo said that he will henceforth distance himself from all APC activities. He however didn’t state which party he would be going to even though investigation reveal that he’s on his way to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), a party which he has told his followers that he admires the candidate, Dr Asue Ighodalo.
Attached is a transcript of his resignation note.
“Dear Eesteemed leaders and fellow citizens,
I am writing to formally announce my resignation from the All Progressive Congress(APC), effective immediately. As the National Town Crier, Egogo Worldwide, I can no longer continue to be affiliated with an organization that I believe has lost sight of its core values and principles.
While I have previously been a vocal supporter of the party, I have come to realize that certain individuals within the party have been driven by self-interest, jealousy, and a lack of accountability. It is disheartening to see party funds being misused by people who can’t even win their various polling unit, while the dedicated members who work tirelessly for the party’s success are mistreated and left to struggle.
As a result, I have made the difficult decision to distance myself from the APC and its activities. I will no longer participate in any party-related matters, effective Monday, July 1st, 2024.
