The Esan Descendants Assembly (EDA), representing Esan people globally, congratulates you, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on your victory in the 2024 Edo State gubernatorial election held on the 21st of September, 2024. This triumph is a monumental achievement for Esanland, as it marks the restoration of power to our people, further strengthening the significance of equity, fairness, and the spirit of brotherhood within Edo State.
We extend our deep appreciation to our brothers and sisters in Edo North (Afemai) and Edo South (Benin) for honoring the spirit of brotherhood and supporting the rotation of power to Edo Central (Esan People). This gracious act of unity will be forever etched in the annals of our history.
We are also delighted that this election, contested with two of our distinguished Esan sons as frontrunners, has resulted in an Esan candidate being declared the winner. This victory is not only yours but a proud moment for all Esan people. It represents a new chapter of opportunity and responsibility for our region and the state as a whole.
As you prepare to lead Edo State, we urge you to declare a state of emergency in critical sectors such as education, critical infrastructure (especially roads that crisscross Edo Central, whether they are owned by the federal, state, or local government, provided they serve the people of Edo State), and agriculture, with particular attention to Ambrose Alli University, the biggest industry in Esanland. These steps will create a solid foundation for lasting growth and development in the region.
Additionally, we encourage you to extend a hand of collaboration to your brother, Barr. (Dr.) Asuenimen Ighodalo, as together, both of you can work towards the shared vision of a greater Edo State. This unity will ensure that Esanland leads in progress and development across the entire state.
