Spokesman to APC Leader in Edo State, Victor Oshioke, has admitted that Monday Okpebholo, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Edo 2024 Election, cannot impress a crowd, implying his non suitability for the position of Governor of Edo State which majority believe is for anyone who can talk and do.
Posting in Edo Political Forum plarform, monitored by journalists, Victor Oshioke however said that their candidate is “a very sellable candidate.” But majority believe this is incompatible with his statement that their candidate cannot impress an audience.
“Okpebholo is certainly not an orator… He is certainly not good at impressing a crowd” Oshioke lamented.
Meanwhile, majority of the younger, viable and vibrant members of the APC have abandoned the party embracing the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Asue Ighodalo, who they believe has what it takes to lead Edo State in the present time. Some of those who have dumped the APC include Daniel Ogbegie, Saintmoses Eromosele, Francis Inegbeniki and Chris Osa, all citing disappointment in the quality of the APC candidate. John Mayaki is rumoured to be on his way out of the party also, having exited all the party social media platforms, dissatisfied with the modus operandi of the gubernatorial candidate.
It is however not clear whether Victor Oshioke, who described Asue Ighodalo as “disgusting”, is also on his way out of the APC which majority of Edo people consider to be unpopular at this time due to her poor quality candidate.
